I used a macro setting on my camera which meant that I could get in as close as about 10 cm. I manually focused on the largest cluster of drops, about a third of the way down the head of the flower. This meant that the tip of the tulip fell away into a blur, subconsciously directing the eye into the centre of the flower. By placing the tulip at an angle, the lines on the petals were made to run diagonally through the frame. This generated interest to a simple composition.
