Using natural light from my kitchen window, a piece of white card to reflect light into the shadowy areas, I managed to create some wonderful images, full of line and texture.

I managed to capture every vein in this Japanese maple leaf. I metered for the leaf so that the white background would be brighter creating a ‘high key’ effect to this image. I took photographs from this angle in colour and black and white. The black and white photograph is good, but it is the addition of the deep red colour that gives this photograph the wow factor.
