Prague

It would have to take a hardened traveller who could arrive in Prague and not be instantly awed by the grandeur of the city. From the Vlatava River, crossed by the spectacular Charles Bridge, to the stunning façade of the Castle high on its hill looking down over the city and the breathtaking combination of Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture in the Old and New Towns, this is a city that rivals most other great capitals.

For centuries it has been known as Zlata Praha (Golden Prague) - a glittering jewel of art and architecture nestling snugly at the heart of Europe. Home to Emperors and Kings, artists and astronomers, this beautiful and fascinating city has worked its subtle magic on generations of visitors and lent inspiration to musicians and writers from Mozart to Dvorack and Kafka to Kima.
