The Charles Bridge is one of the most popular sights in Prague. The 515m bridge straddles the Vlatava River.
The bridge, named after King Charles IV, was designed by the prominent architect Peter Parler in 1357. It formed part of the Royal Route from the Old Town up to Prague Castle.
The highlight of the bridge today, apart from the view of both halves of the city, are the statues that line its length.
